Evelyns Angels is a fund established at the Shasta Regional Community Foundation. This fund was established in memory of our mother, Evelyn. It was created in order to benefit and support children in need who are facing illness or hardship by providing Teddy Bears. We hope to support non-profit organizations, hospitals, shelters, children's homes, and disaster areas with Funding and Teddy Bears who are Evelyn's Angels.
For several years Evelyn courageously battled a disease called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. ALS is a progressive, fatal, neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. Our wish is for Evelyn's legacy to remain through the development of this charity, because throughout her lifetime she filled so many lives with her kindness and generosity. She was deeply loved by her husband, children and their spouses, her grandchildren, along with many other family members and friends. Her heart was full of compassion and her sweet spirit touched everyone she met.
Evelyn adored children and she was especially fond of Teddy Bears.
My mother inspired me. Her legacy of strength, courage, kindness, generosity and faith will carry on forever and hopefully touch the hearts of others as she will be in our hearts forever.
